Scope and terms.
What your build includes, what costs extra, and how payment works. Written in plain English, because a page nobody reads protects nobody.
What you are buying
A website, built by one person, delivered finished and working. Your quote names one of two packages, or a custom price if the job doesn't fit either.

Changes, and what counts as extra
Digital Starter includes two rounds of changes. Smart Business includes three. A round means you send me everything you want changed in one go, and I do it.
Included
- Wording, colours, layout and photo choices
- Fixing anything that is broken, wrong or not as described, at any point
- Reasonable back and forth to get it right
Quoted separately
- Extra pages beyond what your quote lists
- Online booking, payments, or customer accounts
- Starting the design again from scratch after you have approved a direction
- Writing your copy from nothing, rather than shaping what you give me
- Further rounds of changes once the included ones are used
Nothing extra ever happens by surprise. If something you ask for falls outside your package, I tell you the price first and you decide. I do not do the work and then bill you for it.
Payment
- 50% when you accept the quote. Work starts once this arrives.
- 50% when the site is finished and you have seen it, before it goes live on your domain.
Invoices come from Stripe and can be paid by card or bank transfer. Bank transfer costs me less, so it is the one I will suggest, but either is fine.
How long it takes
Between 2 and 10 days from the day I have your deposit and your content, depending on the size of the build. Those are two separate conditions, and the clock starts at the later one.
The single most common reason a website is late is content. Not design, not code. I will send you one checklist of everything I need. The faster it comes back, the faster you are live.
What I need from you
- Your business name, address, phone and email exactly as you want them shown
- Your opening hours, and your service area
- A list of what you do, and prices if you want them public
- Photos of your own work, if you have them. If you don't, that is what the Smart Business photography is for.
- Your logo, if you have one
- Login details for your existing website and domain, if you already have them
If things go quiet
If I have not heard from you for 30 days, I will pause the job and let you know. Your deposit stays on your account for six months and picks up where we left off whenever you are ready. After six months I would need to requote, because prices and the work itself will have moved on.
This is not a penalty. It exists so that a job neither of us has touched since spring does not sit open forever.
Cancelling
- Before I start: full refund of your deposit, no questions.
- After I start: the deposit covers work already done and is not refunded, but you keep everything built so far and I will hand over the files.
- If I cannot finish for any reason on my side, you get a full refund including the deposit.
What you own
All of it, from the first day.
- The domain is registered in your name, on your card
- The hosting account is yours, with your login
- The files and the design are yours once the final invoice is paid
- Photographs I take of your business are yours to use anywhere, forever
I keep no control over any of it. If you want to move to somebody else, or bring it in house, you can do that without asking me. I would only ask to keep showing the site as an example of my work, and you can say no.
What I do not do
Said plainly so it is never a surprise later:
- I do not guarantee any particular position in Google results. Anyone who does is guessing.
- I do not write your legal pages. If you need specific privacy or terms wording, that is a question for a lawyer.
- I am not responsible for outages at your hosting or domain provider, though I will help you sort them out.
- I cannot control what third parties like Google or Facebook show about your business.
After it goes live
Anything broken, wrong, or not as described is fixed free, for as long as the site is up. That is not a warranty period, it is just what finished work means.
Changes to your business, such as new prices, new services, new hours or new photos, are either a small quoted job or part of Growth Support if you want it ongoing.
Accepting this
Your quote references this page by its version number. Paying the deposit invoice means you accept the terms on this page as they read for that version.
This page can change for future work, but the version named on your quote is the one that applies to your job, and it will not change underneath you.
